African Independence
The British colony known as the Gold coast became the first african colony south of the sahara to achieve independenece after world war II . The bristish Colony of the Gold Coast would be come to known as Gahana. The leadere of their nonviolent protests was Kwame Nkrumah . He was a former teacher who had spent several years studying in the United States . in the 1940s, he worked to free the Gold Coast from British control

The Treaty of Versailles (ended WW I)
At the end of World War I their was a peace treaty signed called the Treaty of Versailles. It ended the War between Germany and the Allied Powers . The Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28 , 1919 five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, an event that the started of the war.
For Germany The Treaty of Versailles was taken out on them. Germany was blamed for the whole war and was being forced to pay compensation because of the war guilt in the treaty. As a result of this Germany lost a lot of their land many germany people found themselves outside of the germany borders.

Mustafa Kemal (Ataturk) and the Modernization of Turkey
Ataturk's goal was to modernize Turkish society and improve Turkish life. Ataturk emerged as a military hero at the Dardanelles in 1915, he then became founded the country of Turkey as a charismaticleader in 1919. He blazed across the worldscene in the 1920's as a triumphant commander who crused the in invaders of his country .
